Deliver Us From Evil

E. B. Alston

In 1968, four North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation undercover agents in a row disappeared in Onslow County. Charles Edmonds, Director of the SBI, sent Bill Davis to find out what happened to his men. When Bill arrives back in his old stomping grounds in Jacksonville, the sparks begin to fly as Bill, his dog named Bear and an agent named Sandy Meyers unravel a mystery wrapped inside an enigma.

Bill reports to Jacksonville full of memories of the last assignment and the action quickly heats up. One day he returns to his hotel room to find a gorgeous blonde named Sandy waiting in his room with written orders from Edmonds that she has been assigned to be his partner. Together they identify a violent drug gang as their quarry and bring them to bay in a ferocious battle where they exact retribution in the old fashioned way.   It is an action packed story of adventure and romance.

"Deliver Us From Evil," This was an exciting book! I love the character, Bill Davis. In real life men like him are hard to come by. He is what he is and then some. I felt sorry for Sandy, but she knew what she was getting, no strings attached. Her character could be developed into a sequel! This book was everything I expected it to be and then some."

"I started reading Friday night. My husband had to go to bed with the chickens because he had to work Saturday. (He's up at 4:30 am) I didn't put it down until I finished reading."

Lona Lockhart. January 9, 2006.
